The Roselli brothers

Coming to the fore in 2000, the case of the Roselli brothers shook the casinos in Las Vegas and several innocent victims . The story begins in 1995, when two men assumed the identity of the Roselli brothers and they joined forces with a hacker who got all the details they needed about casino players with good credit scores. Using this information, they opened accounts at several casinos and deposited about $50,000 at each, making the casinos more than eager to give them credit. Over the course of five years, the bogus Roselli's credit had risen to more than $1,000,000 at almost every casino, and they were placing single bets of up to $100,000. After winning about $40 million , they cashed out all their accounts and disappeared. It wasn't until casinos and lenders began charging victims of the scam that people realized the Roselli's had stolen their data, including from the real Roselli brothers. No one knows who the fraudsters were and they have not yet been caught.

Radio transmitters on roulette balls

After becoming interested in amatnzd radio, a French croupier realized that he could use this technology to become a millionaire . Along with his brother and sister-in-law, the dealer replaced the roulette ball with one he had designed to respond to radio transmissions, while the sister-in-law, who would sit at the next table, had a small radio transmitter in a pack of cigarettes. The brother, in turn, would be the player, who would always bet on the same set of numbers & the hit was accurate to six numbers. In a week, this scam earned more than $1,000,000 to scammers and there seemed to be limits to them. Then the security guards noticed that the woman was always present on the nights when the casino suffered the greatest losses, and after many investigations by the casino and the police, the casino's radio frequencies were discovered.

Cameras in shirt sleeves

Operating in the United States and the Philippines circa 2011, the gang known as the Cutter Gang became internationally famous after scammers were caught using tiny cameras in shirt sleeves to look at cards, while being asked to cut them during baccarat games . The gang member filming the cards would pause during the game to pass the camera to others, who would then provide valuable information. They were arrested and $1,000,000 in winnings was withheld however, the police did not have enough evidence to keep them in jail, so they were released and had the money returned. The gang members went to the Philippines, where the scam was finally unraveled. Even so, they escaped custody and remain at large to this day.

Biggest scams in casinos

Contact lenses and invisible ink

Also in 2011, the story of the short-lived scam committed by three Italians and a Frenchman may have turned out to be one of the most profitable scams in Casino history . In this scheme, one of them discreetly marked the values on the cards with invisible ink during a poker game. Then another player wore contact lenses that could see invisible ink. Thus, they won large amounts in a row, which prompted the authorities to investigate. Although it didn't take long for them to discover that the four people were cheating the casino, it did take a while for them to discover that the secret to this scam was contact lenses.

Roulette at the Ritz Casino

In 2004, a group of eastern dollarpa players used an app on their smartphone to measure the size of the roulette wheel and the speed at which the ball spun to determine where it would land . Surprisingly, the gang managed to win more than $2,000,000 . When they were caught, the authorities did not arrest the fraudsters, since even though it was a scam, there was no legal basis for them to be prosecuted, and they were also able to keep their winnings. In any case, all members have been banned from virtually all casinos for obvious reasons.

Casino legends

Scams of this magnitude, while Rare, have become part of casino legend around the world. These stories are fascinating and arouse the curiosity of fans of casino games .
